Finally I got all bits and pieces together and I have a guitar that has what I wanted: staggered locking tuners, a good vibrato, vintage style alnico 2 pickups with low output and a treble bleed circuit, a blender that in position 1 blends in the neck pickup and in position 5 blends in the bridge pickup, in position 2 blends in the neck and in position 4 blends in the bridge so you have all options! And more; graphite nut, jumbo frets, a neck with 12″ radius and and a headstock with artwork of sweet child of mine!
The guitar is brighter than my other ST-style guitar and I like it. Now I have two nice guitars that sounds different from each other. The weight of the guitar is 3,72 kg. The older one that I have is 3,49 kg. I think a lot of the higher weight can be explained through the heavier Wilkinson vibrato and the locking tuners.
Right now I don’t use the string tree, I think that is what the staggered tuners are for, I think they do their job. And the string tree would be placed right in the middle of the artwork and I don’t want that.
For the sound examples I use BluGuitar´s Amp1 Mercury.
Cheers!
